    Additional day can be added to any one of our four Multi-Sport Tours.Take a trip to the High Andes Barren Plains (4000mts) to the Papallacta Natural Hot Springs. Drive the same route as Francisco De Orellana walked when he discovered the Amazon River. Visit Tumbaco, Cumbaya and Pifo Valley. We will climb up the Central Andes chain until we reach Papallacta Lake where we will stop at the thermal springs. This is a wonderfully relaxing day. During the trip, your guide will give you a botanical and ecological explanation of the Coca Cayambe Reserve, which is considered a Condors area.

    Day 1 PM Transfer from Quito Airport to San Jorge Eco-Lodge & Botanical Reserve

    Day 2: Guided City Tour of Old Colonial Quito Your private guide will provide complete information on the Baroque Colonial Art found in the Colonial Gold Churches. We will visit the museums where you can learn about the history, archaeology and folklore of Ecuador. Throughout the day, parks, enjoying cultural activities, music and traditional Ecuadorian life. visit the most important areas: Plaza de la Independencia, Plaza San Francisco, Plaza Santo Domingo, La Merced, La Compania, and Penecillo. Footnote: We may bike the City Tour of Quito if on a Sunday, when the streets are quiet with no cars.

    Day 3: The Dog Circuit (42 km - 26 miles) This is a soft cross-country, farm adventure with marvelous sightseeing of the Northwest country area by secondary routes. We will explore the Nono Valley and visit the forgotten village of Nono, Santa Rosa Canyon and see farms where fightbulls are raised. Next we will visit Pululahua Mountain -an inactive volcanic crater that last erupted around 1500 BC. Then it's on to witness the Original Monument of the Middle of the World in Cala Cali, a traditional village once favored by smugglers transporting sugar cane liquor from the coastal interiors.     Day 4: Nono Tandayapa Route Downhill Trip (45 km - 28 miles) This is a famous Birdwatchers secondary route. While descending from the beautiful virgin cloud forest, visit the Sierra, an enormous canyon, Tandayapa and Pichincha's untouched foothills. This is a fairly easy ride that offers incredible sightseeing from an altitude of 3200mts down to 1500mts. We will witness some amazing vegetation changes as we explore virgin rainforests on this magical tour for riders of any level! Meals: B,L,D

    Day 5: Yanacocha Highland Rainforest (37 km - 23 miles) Biking Around Pichincha Volcano Crater Basin - a short uphill & longer downhill. Bike up to Singuna Mouth High Valley, where we will visit the Alto Peru area and Inca Ditch. While entering this natural area, we'll pass through four short tunnels (a lot of fun to ride) and then in no time be at the base of the Guagua Pichincha Crater. From here we'll continue on a flat route, ascending 250 meters in 6 km. No cars - it's all highland rain forest! Meals: B,L,D

    Day 6: Shamanism Medicinal Plant & Sacred Waterfalls Tour at San Jorge Botanical Reserve we will trek to the highland tropical rainforest, visiting about 15 sacred waterfalls. Here, we will learn about the medicinal attributes of the native plants, containing up to 250 varieties in the region. At the same time, you will take in the fabulous panoramic views of Quito, it's lush valleys and majestic mountains and the volcano peaks of Cayambe, Antizana, Pasochoa, Pululahua, Pichincha, and Illalo. Return to relax at the Lodge for the remainder of the day. Enjoy our tempered swimming pool, sauna, Turkish Bath and Jacuzzi. Spend the evening at our Botanical Reserve with an Andes Highland Shaman to learn traditional medicinal practices and receive a "Cleansing". Meals: B,L,D

    Day 7: Horseback Riding Eco-Adventure to the high barren plains, with private guide, boxed lunch. Experience a slice of 17th Century life! Ride Mustang Horses with traditional saddles up to Pichincha Mountain. Visit the Andes potato and cattle farms. Great sightseeing!     Day 3, 4, 5, 6: Mountain Biking Lloa Mindo Only third class and small roads, down in the Western Pichichas area. We will cross the Pachincha mountain range (Guagua and Rucu). And make our way downhill by the highland rain forest and cloud forest in the western region. We begin our journey at 3300mts and ride down to 1200mts through an area in which roads were destroyed by volcanic eruption- in many cases, we will have to make our own roads! We will also have to cross the Cristal River a few times to complete the trek. This is a total adventure experience for Adrenaline People only! We will be sleeping overnight in tents and lonely farms, very few creature comforts on this one, but tons of fun. Something to tell the grandkids about! Meals: B,L,D

    Day 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 Mountain Biking Andes & Amazon Basin The best riding Ecuador has to offer- from high barren plains & highland rain forest of the Andes down through the humid tropical rain forests of the Amazon. We begin early AM at San Jorge Eco-Lodge and pack up to leave for our expedition. We set out crossing the Central Andes Chain, the majestic Cotopaxi Volcano and riding through traditional villages. Across Patate, a green, flowering valley and the village of Banos where we will soothe tired muscles with a well-deserved soak in the magical hot springs. Some truly incredible views can be had here as well, weather permitting. Next, we visit spectacular waterfalls and typical attractions in the area. Continuing our ride with a visit to Puyo, a capital Amazon village. Meals: B,L,D

    • Day 3 - Down Hill and Flat. Boliche National Park, (Nasa area), Cotopaxi National Park, Latacunga. (55 km - 34 miles)
    • Day 4 - Flat, down hill, up hill. Salcedo-Patain-Pillaro-Patate-Banos. (60km - 37 miles)
    • Day 5 - Banos-Shell-Mera-Puyo. (62km - 39 miles)
    • Day 6 - Relax and swim in small Amazon River. Visit a botanical garden of the area. Return to San Jorge Eco-Lodge

    Day 1 - PM Transfer from Quito Airport to San Jorge Eco-Lodge & Botanical Reserve

    Day 2 - Shamanism Medicinal Plants and Sacred Waterfalls Tour at San Jorge Botanical Reserve we will trek to the highland tropical rainforest, visiting up to 15 sacred waterfalls. Here, we will learn about the medicinal attributes of the native plants, containing up to 250 varieties in the region. At the same time, you will take in the fabulous panoramic views of Quito, it's lush valleys and majestic mountains and the volcano peaks of Cayambe, Antizana, Pasochoa, Pululahua, Pichincha, and Illalo. Return to relax at the Lodge for the remainder of the day. Enjoy the tempered swimming pool, sauna, Turkish Bath and Jacuzzi.

    Days 3, 4 - Horseback riding expedition for 2 days to the Rucu & Guagua Pichincha Volcano slopes & Alto Peru high barren plains. From there on it's Llama Trekking to the summit, on archaic hand-carved pathways as the ancient Inca (and Pre-Inca) travelled thousands of years ago. We will camp overnight in tents under the starry Andean sky, high in the Andes Mountains with horses. Return to San Jorge the next afternoon.

    Day 5 - Mountain Bike Trip (downhill) on the Nono-Tandayapa Road (45km - 28 miles), a world famous bird watching area. Hiking at Yumbos along a 1500 B.C., pre-Inca route in the Cloud Forest Pauma area. Stop for a bath in a sacred jungle river.

    Day 6-Biking to Cala CaLì (42km - 26 miles) We begin the day by cruising through the Nono Alto Andes Valley where we visit the forgotten village of Nono, (ancient warrior). Next we will cross all the farm areas and the foothills of Caitagua Volcano (inactive), we pass through on a third-class route, farms where fight bulls are raised and we arrive to Cala Calì Village a traditional village once favored by smugglers transporting sugar cane liquor from the coastal interiors. Here, we will witness the Original Monument of the Middle of the World. Centered directly on the Equator, the monument is located in the 'middle of the world'. One wheel in the North and the other in the Southern hemisphere!

    Day 7 - Otavalo Indian Market Trip (25km - 16 miles) World famous for it's woven textiles, and Otavalan Indian culture. Visiting by bike allows for great sightseeing of gorgeous San Pablo Lake, and sacred Imbabura Mountain. Upon arriving at the market, we will experience the vibrant array of richly hued and beautifully crafted tapestries and clothing. Feel the warm touch of the native villages and traditional neighborhoods of Agato, Otavalo, San Pablo del Lago, Peguche, Iluman along the way. By being on bike, we will have the opportunity to visit traditional houses and textile factories in the surrounding areas! A real touch of native Ecuador by bike and an unforgettable cultural experience.

    Day 8 - Whitewater River Rafting After breakfast we will set off for rafting on the Toachi or Blanco River, depending on which river is running the highest that day. After an informative session and receiving our gear, we will be ready to enjoy exciting & natural rivers with fantastic wild sightseeing. As our day rolls down the river the rugged history of the canyons unfold before our eyes. Relishing quiet moments of pristine Andean beauty, we'll have just enough time to prepare for the next exhilarating section of rapids! At the end of the day we will return to San Jorge for a relaxing evening.

    Day 9 - Hiking or biking in the Cotopaxi National Park. (28km - 17 miles) Our adventure begins as we drive south for 2 hours to Cotopaxi, the highest active volcano in the World. Following dirt roads through volcanic ash and páramo (desert) landscape dotted with pink & yellow flowers to Incan ruins at 3700mts. Here we will stop for lunch, keeping an eye out for majestic condors in the skies above. In the afternoon, we roll past shimmering Limpiopungo Lake, through wonderfully scented pine forests. As our day progresses, we will also visit Ruminahui, Pasochoa, and the Sincholagua Mountains, areas considered sacred by the Incas.

    Day 10 - Breakfast Buffet & AM Transfer to Quito Airport
